COERR Kanchanaburi in the Pastoral Care for Refugees

COERR Kanchanaburi has supported Fr. Justin who regularly performed Mass in churches in Ban Don Yang and Ban Tham Hin camps. After Mass, he usually paid visits to vulnerable and sick elderly who were too weak to come to church. On September 12, 2017, Mass was celebrated on the Feast Day of Mary, Queen of Peace Church in Ban Don Yang camp, Kanchanaburi Province. Fr. Justin and Sr. Cecilia then joined the church council’s thankyou ceremony on this special occasion.

Children activities for elderly : Home visit, house cleaning and repair, herb and healthy food and drinks distribution, etc.

There was a number of youth volunteers to visit the vulnerable elderly to clean their houses and join their prayers too.

This month the vulnerable and sick elderly were provided with eggs, nutrient and instant food, mosquito nets, washing powder, toilet paper, thermos, etc.

It is expected that these activities directly benefit the vulnerable elderly and indirectly benefit the youth refugees in raising youth’s awareness in helping others and developing their leadership initiatives.
